The Optical Center is a locally owned and totally independent optical store. We are not affiliated with any eye doctor or eyeglass chain store. We do not do eye exams or sell contact lenses. We specialize in dispensing quality prescription eyeglasses, and sunglasses.
What does The Optical Center’s independence mean to you?
It means that we do not have a large corporation telling us what products to offer our customers. We are able to customize our frame and sunglass selections based on feedback from you, our customers. We are able to choose our lab partners and therefore able to offer a better mix of lens products for our customers. Unlike other optical stores and chains, we welcome special orders for frames and sunglasses.
We only offer product that we believe in and in most cases have used ourselves. We do not pay commissions or offer incentives to our opticians to sell certain products, a common practice at many large optical offices.
We go out of our way to keep our customers coming back, whether it’s finding the perfect frame for their new prescription, or tracking down a sunglass they saw on TV we’re here to help! We treat our customers as friends, not just clients, and we are totally dedicated to first-rate customer service.
We support local organizations such as Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and AMBUCS Vermont. We often donate product or gift cards to UVM, St. Michael’s College, Champlain College and many local fundraisers that take place each year.
The next time you need prescription glasses, a new pair of sunglasses or just have a question we hope that you will come and experience The Optical Center difference!
